Minutes:

Steve Zornetzer began the meeting at 9:30 am. The first item to be addressed on the agenda was the topic of affirming access to LEP (Limited English Proficiency) persons in programs assisted and conducted by NASA. Adriana addressed this mandate and referred to a HQ created brochure that was passed out to all those present at the meeting. The brochure addresses nondiscrimination on the basis of National Origin which includes persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP).

The next item on the agenda was a presentation by the alumni of the Diversity Leadership Training Class. Brett Vu, Dana Bolles and Carolina Blake presented on the state of Diversity at Ames and the request to create a Diversity Plan at the center.

A request was made by the alumni that a sub-committee be formed to address the issues of diversity. Steve Zornetzer, Sally Mauldin, Michael Marlaire, Sandy Olliges volunteered to be members of the subcommittee.

Lew Braxton and Steve Zornetzer asked that the composition of the subcommittee should be submitted to them by December 3, 2005.

This group is to report out at the next meeting which should be held in January 2006.
